In 2010, the United States imposed emissions requirements on the heavy truck industry which created a need for large diameter, stainless steel tubes. These tubes are used to route exhaust gasses into, through and away from the treatment devices. American Hydroformers is supplying both 4.5” and 5” OD tubes fabricated to stringent requirements for these systems. These heavy wall, 439 tubes have tight bend radii and features that are difficult to form. In addition to these tubes, AHI is also supplying a 4” OD stainless tube that makes a shape transition to a rectangular cross section that can only be formed by the hydroforming process. This tube is also used in heavy diesel emissions treatment systems. |
